It is never too early to start planning, so we warmly invite you to join us for our annual Fall Bible Conference at the Duluth Bible Church. We moved the conference up two weeks to escape the logjam of conferences in October and to enjoy the nicest time of the fall in Minnesota. The dates are set for October 4–8, 2017. As with previous years, our Conference will be in two parts, with a Pastors & Missionaries portion followed by an All Believers portion.

Pastors & Missionaries Conference – October 4–5

The Pastors-Missionaries portion of our Fall Conference is limited to pastors, church leaders, missionaries, and their wives as we want these servants of Christ to have interactive times of teaching and personal fellowship in a small group setting. There is NO COST for this part of our conference and all meals and housing are provided on a grace basis (all the way through the entire Fall Bible Conference if you can stay the whole time). The sessions will run from Wednesday, October 4 at 9:00 a.m. until Thursday, October 5, at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The ALL BELIEVERS portion of our Fall Bible Conference will be October 5–8 (starting Thursday night through Sunday morning) on 1 PETER: SUFFERING FOR THE SAVIOR. These studies, taught by several guest Bible teachers and the pastors from Duluth Bible church, will consist of a verse-by-verse study through this extremely practical epistle from the pen of the apostle Peter. There is NO COST for the conference, though a freewill offering will be taken.

Further details about the Fall Conference will be forthcoming in the next edition of the Grace Family Journal and on our website: www.duluthbible.org. We hope you can join us for this edifying and encouraging time with believers who love the teaching of God’s Word and His amazing grace in the Lord Jesus Christ!

ALL BELIEVERS CONFERENCE
(2017 Duluth Bible Church Fall Bible Conference)
Thursday evening – Sunday morning / October 5–8, 2017

1 PETER: SUFFERING FOR THE SAVIOR (10 Sessions)

Are you experiencing trials, suffering, and perhaps even persecution as a believer in Christ? Are you wondering how to respond? The epistle of 1 Peter was placed in God’s Word to provide believers with Christ-centered hope for the trials of this life, as we look back to Christ’s suffering for us on the Cross and forward to His glorious return. Regarding 1 Peter, the late pastor and radio preacher J. Vernon McGee stated, “The great theme of this epistle of Peter is Christian hope in the time of trial. . . . Peter has been called the apostle of hope while Paul has been called the apostle of faith and John has been called the apostle of love. This epistle put a great emphasis upon hope, but I believe that the word which conveys the theme of this epistle is suffering. . . . Hope is always tied with the suffering. Therefore . . . the theme is the Christian hope in the time of trial.”

If you want your faith fortified, your hope renewed, and your love for Christ and others rekindled, plan to join us for this rich time of teaching from God’s Word and fellowship around the Lord Jesus Christ. These messages from the book of 1 Peter will involve expository, verse-by-verse teaching as each Bible teacher reads the text of God’s Word, explains its meaning, and applies it to our Christian lives as enabled by the Holy Spirit.

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6–7); “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. (1 Peter 4:12–14).
